Overview

In FAI Cloud and FAI Local, Ayyeka offers tools for distributors to manage subscriptions for their network of other distributors and end-users. The Account hierarchy represents the business relationship between distributors and end-users. The top-most Account is the Distributor Account, and all immediate child accounts belong to the distributor's direct customers (other distributors or end-users).

Distributor Role

A Distributor communicates directly with Ayyeka to purchase devices and subscriptions. With the Distributor Role, distributors can:

• Manage their entire Account tree in the FAI UI.

• View and manage all subaccounts, down to end-users.

Note: Distributors cannot use their API keys to access devices in child accounts. They must use the UI.

Process Flow to Build the Account Hierarchy

1. A new distributor starts with their primary Account.

2. They create subaccounts for their distribution network.

3. The distributor can invite users to manage child accounts.

4. Once the Accounts are in place, distributors can:

   • Move devices to subaccounts.

   • Transfer subscriptions to subaccounts.

Sample Use Case

In the FAI Cloud solution:

• Company_A is a Distributor with Ayyeka.

• Company_A has:

  • A European Distributor Company_A_EU with clients:

    • Company_A_EU_Munich

    • Company_A_EU_Paris

  • An American Distributor Company_A_US with clients:

    • Company_A_US_NY

    • Company_A_US_CAL

Both Company_A_EU_Munich and Company_A_US_NY have end-users of the devices. Company_A can see and manage its entire tree of distributors and clients, including moving devices and transferring subscriptions.

Assign the Distributor Role

1. In the left pane, click Account and select the desired Account.

2. Click the Users tab.

3. Click the pencil icon next to the user you want to assign the Distributor role.

4. In the Edit User Properties window:

   • Select Distributor in the Account Role section.

   • Click Submit.

Find the Parent Account

1. In the left pane, click Account.

2. Select the desired Account.

3. The Parent Account is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window.

   • If the account is a Distributor, the Parent Account is "None".

See All Subaccounts of an Account

1. In the left pane of the FAI Cloud UI, click Subscriptions.

2. Click your favicon in the upper-right corner.

3. Select "Select Account" and scroll to the desired Account.

4. All subaccounts of the selected parent Account are listed.
