Understanding User Roles

The system supports two sets of roles: Account roles and Collection roles.

Account Roles

Account roles grant permissions for all assets within an Account. Each role level includes the permissions of lower-level roles, plus additional permissions.

• No Access (Alerts only): Receives threshold alerts from Account devices.

• Account Operator: Can view Sites and streams in the Account.

• Account Analyst: Can generate reports.

• Account Engineer: Can manage all Sites and streams in the Account.

• Account Administrator: Can configure all devices in the Account.

• Account Owner: Can manage all users, groups, and Collections in the Account.

• Account Distributor: Can manage Subscriptions for their network of Distributors and end-users.

• Account Partner: Can manage all Accounts they are responsible for.

Collection Roles

Collection roles grant permissions for assets within a specific Collection. Each role level includes the permissions of lower-level roles, plus additional permissions.

• No Access (Alerts only): Receives threshold alerts from Collection devices.

• Collection Operator: Can view Sites and streams in the Collection.

• Collection Analyst: Can generate reports.

• Collection Engineer: Can manage all Sites and streams in the Collection.

• Collection Administrator: Can configure all devices in the Collection.

• Collection Owner: Can manage all users and groups in the Collection.
