Overview of Technical Streams
A technical stream is created automatically when a new device is initialized or when a template is applied. Alternatively, you can manually create technical streams without reapplying a template. These streams provide essential data about the device's health and operation.

Technical Stream Types
GSM (Signal Strength)
Description: Modem signal strength for cellular transmission.
Values:
Excellent: > -64 dBm
Good: -79 to -65 dBm
Moderate: -89 to -80 dBm
Weak: -99 to -90 dBm
Very Weak: ≤ -100 dBm
Tip: Ignore values of +85; this is a known issue in 4G networks.
GSM Signal Strength %
Description: Signal strength as a percentage.
Values:
Excellent: 75–100%
Good: 55–75%
Moderate: 45–55%
Poor: 0–45%
GSM RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power)
Description: Modem signal strength for LTE networks.
Values:
Excellent: ≥ -80 dBm
Good: -80 to -90 dBm
Midway: -90 to -100 dBm
Edge: ≤ -100 dBm
GSM RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality)
Description: Signal quality for LTE networks.
Values:
Excellent: ≥ -10 dBm
Good: -10 to -15 dBm
Midway: -15 to -20 dBm
Edge: ≤ -20 dBm
GPS
Description: Provides geolocation and time data.
Values:
Latitude/Longitude: Degrees
Altitude: Meters from mean sea level
HDOP (Precision): Horizontal dilution of precision
Note: GPS updates occur during a reboot, magnetic key swipe, or monthly.
Battery Life
Description: Remaining battery life in percentage, based on usage patterns.
Recommendation: Replace battery when life reaches 30%.
Communication Status
Description: Displays the device's communication status.
Delayed Transmission: Transmission didn’t occur 2+ hours after the scheduled interval.
Interrupted Transmission: Transmission fails for 3+ days.
Power Source
Description: Monitors transitions between internal battery and external power sources.
Alert: Alerts can be configured for power source changes.
Internal Humidity
Description: Measures device moisture penetration.
Values:
Preferred: < 30%
Acceptable: Up to 70%
Action: Replace desiccants if humidity exceeds 70%.
Internal Temperature
Description: Temperature inside the device.
Values:
Acceptable Range: -40°C to 80°C
Voltage (Battery and External Power)
Internal Battery Voltage: Voltage produced by the battery
External Power Voltage: Voltage supplied by an external source
VBAT (Voltage at Battery): Power used during sampling and transmission
